More holiday fun

Saturday - spent some more time with Troy's family...

So tired... this trip has thrown him off his nap/bedtime schedule

Sunday - LittleBigMan's great grandparents came to visit us in Oklahoma City

Monday - last little bit of family time before returning to Colorado...

One of the most adventurous little girls I've ever met, and quite sweet too!

Having fun with Grandpa

We had plans to see some other friends, but Troy was feeling sick during most of the trip and LittleBigMan wouldn't nap so he was in a terrible mood. Things just didn't go as smoothly as usual this time, but we had a great time over all. It was so nice being back home with family for the holidays. I wonder if part of me will always consider Oklahoma home, even though we are quite happy here in our new home.

Speaking of home, we returned home this evening. We did our Christmas here tonight.

Mama and 2 monkeys (the monkey I crocheted for him for Christmas... I actually started it while I was pregnant and JUST NOW finished it. Can you say procrastination??? LOL) He cuddled up with it when I put him to bed tonight. So cute!

LittleBigMan enjoying the blanket and pillow his Grandie G made for him. We are so sad that LittleBigMan will never get to meet his Grandpa Toy... but glad for the keepsake items.

Added on Dec 30th...
Our friend Pam sent LittleBigMan a gift while we were in Oklahoma. I was able to pick it up today on my way to run errands. The box was full of goodies... clothing, monkey stuffed animals and a Sit & Spin toy. He doesn't quite understand how it works yet but he L-O-V-E-S the music. Daddy helped him out on it and he had a blast...

Added on Jan 4th...

Crazy Christmas

We went to OKC for Christmas. The weather was crazy and we were glad to get there before the craziness began.

Spent the evening by candlelight since we lost power that afternoon through Friday morning.

Had to cuddle up that night to keep warm.

Christmas with Grams

Though 2 of the 3 of us are under the weather today, we did a little pre-Christmas celebration with my mom today. We won't be able to get together on Christmas Day, so she came to visit us. Here are some photos from our time together:

Less consumerism, more Christmas

We try to keep it simple around here concerning gifts. I like to make little scrapbooks and sewn items for gifts. I have simply run out of time to make all of the handmade gifts I'd like to make this year. My goal is for next year to be a totally homemade Christmas! Hopefully LilBigMan will be old enough to help with giftmaking then. I have so many ideas tumbling around in my head of ways to show our son compassion for others this time of year (well, all year actually) and the true meaning of the holiday. Now for the hard part... to turn those ideas into action.

Tiny Tree Trimming

I finally pulled out our Christmas tree today. It is tiny, but just the right size for us.

LittleBigMan helped me put on the ornaments...

Family Fun

On Friday, we spent some time at my cousin Kasey's house. Her parents and nieces were there. My mom came over to visit, too. We all had a good time...

Not sure if the hat makes him look like a cowboy or an old timey coal miner

At the end of the night we (Kasey, Andrew, my aunt & uncle, Troy and I) played Compatibility. It's a pretty fun (and mostly hilarious) game.

The game allows for 3 teams (2 people per team) and has identical decks of cards for each person. The cards have all sorts of things on them. For example: a rose, the word "happiness", an expensive car, a baby, 2 clowns, etc... very random stuff. Then on each turn, the die is rolled to determine what the word is for the round. Example: in-laws. Then you go through all of your cards and pick out the ones the best represent your idea of in-laws. The more cards you get in common with your partner the more points you get. We played this game until almost 2 a.m. Yes... TWO IN THE MORNING. Various things were yelled out in the game such as "how in the HECK did you get that card for creative", "the word was SC-HOOL... how did you get THAT for school???", "I didn't dare put that card (a pic of a couple on their wedding day) for the word difficult!" and then toward the end I was getting really poopsy (Troy's way of saying I'm so tired I'm losing my mind).
