Out for a stroll

Baby A, Maggie, Chloe and I all went for a walk today. We walked to the big pond by the clubhouse/swimming pool. I wanted to see if Maggie would like the water. She doesn't yet realize she can swim with those big paws of hers, but she loved the water none-the-less.

Ready to roll

Leaves are beginning to fall

At the pond... Baby A LOVES the water

...as do the doggies

Water, rocks and sticks. What more could this boy ask for?

Mama and son... both messy from the water, but happy to be outdoors and enjoying life!

Tickles

We had a really nice stroll. The dogs were good and A was in a great mood and happy to be outside. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE where we live? It is amazing here. Serene and beautiful. What a lovely day!

Re-named

Thanks to the suggestion from my cousin, we have re-named our dog Maggie.

Friends - Baby A and Maggie

I'm sure she'll end up with many nicknames (like all of the other beings in this house)... but for now she is just Maggie.

New name

Things went well on our first full day with our new dog. Everyone seems to be happy about her being here, except for our other dog Chloe. I think Chloe will eventually warm up to her, just like she did with our last dog Stella.

Her previous owners called her Cassie, which I think is ok. Troy wants to call her Cass, but I don't think the name fits. I'm trying to decide whether or not to rename her. I kind of think she looks like an Emma, but I'm not great at picking dog names.

I would love suggestions on names for her. She's a very sweet dog... loves being close to me. Seems like the typical lab... loyal and fun loving. She's somewhat energetic, but not out of control. Here's another photo of her...

What name best suits her???

Our new dog?

Her name is Cassidy/Cassie/Cass... we'll probably call her Cass. She's about a year old... spayed... has all of her shots. Just needed a good home. We've been thinking about getting another dog (a large dog). We found a posting for the dog in our mailroom a few days ago. We checked her out yesterday and picked her up today. We are lucky that if things don't work out with her, we've been told that we can take her back to the neighbors. I hope everything works out with having her here. She has had some training, so we aren't starting from scratch which is nice. She seems like a really sweet dog. Even so...
I must be totally insane!

A very good day...

Yesterday, Troy and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. I won't lie to you and say it's been 4 years of completely wedded bliss... but it has been good overall. Thinking back over the changes of the last 4 years, I am glad that Troy was by my side.

We married on May 20th, 2005. On January 1st, 2006 we moved to Lake Charles, LA for job opportunities. That was a very stressful time for both of us. The work situation wasn't great and it was tough being so far from home and family. In August of 2007 we found out I was pregnant with Baby A. April of 2008 marked the birth of Baby A. About 5 weeks later we moved to Colorado Springs... jobless. October of 2008 is when we moved into our house. Lots of change!!!

Yesterday, all 3 of us (and our dog Chloe) enjoyed the beautiful weather at one of Colorado Springs' many parks - Monument Valley Park. Later, we dropped off Baby A at his Grams house and Troy and I went to dinner. We ate at a super yummy Indian restaurant called Mirch Masala. It was so good! Overall, I would say it was a very good day.

Here are some photos from the day...

And how about another pic of our super cute 13 month old...
Also... I wanted to mention our other dog Stella. She went missing over the weekend... I am fairly certain she was taken by a bear/mountain lion/fox/coyote. Poor girl. We will miss her silly little adventurous self. She got on my nerves a lot, but I love her and never wanted anything bad to happen to her.

Puppies likes Puffs, too

We've been giving Baby A Puffs... they're lightly flavored puffs of air and wheat (ok, maybe not air, but they do seem that way)

They are a great little snack and an easy food for babies just learning to feed themselves.

Today, Baby A must not have been in the mood for Puffs. I heard some crunching noises and saw this

He seems to be able to get the Puffs in Chloe's mouth better than his own!

The dogs love the Puffs... and Baby A because they know for years to come this little boy will be happily sharing his snacks with them.
