Indoor rock climbing
Last night we went with a neighbor to do some indoor rock climbing. I haven't been in SO long.

He also tried to do a little rock climbing...
We had a good time and I can't wait until the LittleBigMan can do some real climbing, too.

Snowy Sunday
It has snowed ALL day here. And it snowed most of yesterday. And what do you suppose it did on Friday? It looks like a beautiful wintery wonderland...
Troy decided to use the ATV (with a snow blade) to clear the driveway so he can get out to go to work tomorrow. LittleBigMan wanted to help out.

Done... just a little frosty, but LittleBigMan was perfectly warm except for his hands. We'll have to double up on the mittens next time. I'm so thankful for the great snowsuit from my step-mom and Dad. It sure has come in handy here!
Now, let's just hope it doesn't snow all night and cover up their efforts.

22 months old
Our LittleBigMan is 22 months old today. We went to the YMCA with one of Troy's co-workers. A and I swam while Dada played basketball. We had a great time. A still loves the water. I think I'm going to take him to another Baby & Me swim class soon.
LittleBigMan has a lot to say these days. It feels like I say this all the time, but he is definitely having a language explosion - new words, phrases and small sentences. Here are the new things he's been saying...
"Did it"
"Isss smowing" (It's snowing)
"Brrr... cold"
"Gra-ma" (Grandma)
"Maggie, shu-up" (Telling the dog to shut up)
"Dada sleeping"
"Swimming... water"
"Iss good" (in response to being asked if he liked his food)
"Cute"
"Bless you"
"Want some"
Loves to ask about "Pah-kerr" (Parker), "Ka-sey" and "Say-sie" (Sadie)
When asked where Dada is during the day, he says "at wurrrk" (at work)
"Sharkbait" (from Finding Nemo)
"Bre-fass" (Breakfast"
"Co-eee, good girl" (Chloe good girl)
New things he's been doing...
Wants to play "bas-et-ball" with Dada
Helps pick up his toys without too much of a struggle
Loves to play with his cars and says "vroom vroom" and "beep beep"
Tries to help put on his shoes (not very successful at this yet)
Potty training is coming along slowly... he does seem to be becoming more and more aware of when he's going potty. When we put him on the potty chair, he's very good at pushing and trying to go.
He tries to jump, but doesn't quite get both feet off the ground.
Loves to run (especially away from me when he's in trouble!)
Is sometimes shy around strangers, while other times he turns into a big ham.
He LOVES to build with legos/duplos/mega blocks.
We working on learning colors. He says everything is green.
I'm sure there's more, but that's all that comes to mind right now.

Happy Birthday Dada!
Today is Troy's BIRTHDAY!
We celebrated by eating dinner at one of Troy's favorite restaurants...
My mom joined us (she is a big fan of Indian food, too)...
Troy's favorite dish - Chicken Tikka Misala...
LittleBigMan also loves Indian food...
Blowing on the hot chai to cool it down so LittleBigMan could take a sip...

Lately
We have been so busy here lately. Home renovations, family visiting, making lots of presents for upcoming birthdays, trying to rearrange the furniture in the house... etc.
LittleBigMan is starting to join words together in a more sentence like manner. A few days ago he said "Piggies say oink oink". And we've heard a lot of these phrases lately: "Please, mama", "Outside, Maggie", "Open doors", "Watch movie, please", "I sorry". He also tries to repeat most any word you say to him. Not a day goes by that I'm not surprised by something new he is saying.
Troy's birthday is tomorrow. We plan on eating dinner at his favorite Indian restaurant. Once we get home, LittleBigMan and I will give him his gifts. I hope he likes all of them!
I have been really busy making birthday presents for all of the upcoming birthdays in our family. I'm pretty pleased with how everything has turned out and am so excited about some of the upcoming projects.
The dogs... Maggie is happy as can be up here. She runs around, meets up with her boyfriends and loves to roll in and eat the snow. Chloe is happy as can be in the house near me but far away from LittleBigMan.
House stuff... we still have to paint the kitchen and tile the bathrooms and kitchen. I think we are done once those things are complete.... atleast for the inside of the house.

Kasey & Co.

Apple Jeff
Troy's brother, Jeff, has been here visiting since Friday. He is flying home this morning. It was nice having him here. I hope he had a good time!
The whole time he was here, we tried to get LittleBigMan to call him Uncle Jeff. LittleBigMan would say Uncle OR Jeff. Never the two together. Last night, it sounded like he called him Apple Jeff. Is that the beginning of a new nickname? Perhaps.

Rearranging
We are now at the phase in our Home 2010 Project where most everything is done (except tile) and all the furniture must be put back in place. This seems like more work than removing it.
First we had to install baseboard in the new room (and anywhere else we removed it). Of course, LittleBigMan had to help!
Then we had to begin putting furniture back in the bedrooms. It's really nice to have a real bedroom for LittleBigMan!!! It's not finished yet, but atleast the furniture is in the room.
Sleeping in his crib for the first time in a VERY long time.
The guest bedroom is put together (I need to get photos of that).
Then we put our bedroom back in order, but with the furniture slightly rearranged. I already like it a lot better than before. Once again, LittleBigMan was right there by Daddy's side to help him.
This process is going slowly mostly because I am trying to do a little rearranging as we bring the furniture back in the house. It's nice after a month of chaos in our house to have a little bit of order restored!

It's CARPET day
Today is the day we get our new carpet. I am SO happy... happy to be able to put everything back where it belongs in the house, happy to have a REAL bedroom for LittleBigMan, happy to have a real guest room, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
Yesterday evening was spent clearing out the house (atleast the soon-to-be carpeted portions) of every last piece of furniture. We were all exhausted come bedtime.
Phase 1 - We have padding!
Phase 2 - Here comes the carpet!
This pic does not at all show the color. It's not gray, it's a light green (called peridot by the manufacturer). It appears more green in natural sunlight, but more gray with artificial lighting. Either way, it's a great improvement over the ugly, nasty carpet we had before!
Phase 3 : DONE!
