Naptime or playtime?

Baby A was very tired today... so tired that I put him down for his afternoon nap at noon instead of 2. As usual, I heard him talking to himself for a little while. Then it was pretty quiet so I assumed he fell asleep.

Nope.

I looked over at his bed and this is what I saw:

That was the first time he has decided to stand up in his bed. We will be moving his mattress down on his crib this evening!

And the standing was followed by this silliness...

He also just learned how to get to a sitting position from lying down.
This is a month of many firsts for our little big man.

10 months old and crawling

Here is a short video of Baby A crawling. Enjoy!!!

It amazes me how quickly babies learn to do things. Today he is crawling even more distance and faster than he was yesterday. He seems to love his new ability. He doesn't want to be still for a moment now that he's really on the move.

We also have some guests right now. Baby A is enjoying time with his aunt and uncle from Austin, TX. We'll be sure to get plenty of pictures with them during their stay!

We have a crawler

Baby A has been commando/army crawling for a little while... he's getting really fast at the army crawl!

He is now off the ground and crawling... mostly on his hands and tiptoes but he is definitely hit the crawling stage. Dog bowl beware! (Not sure why, but he is drawn to the dog's water bowl like a moth to a flame)

Once I get a good video of him crawling I will be sure to post it.

Visitor

One of our friends came to visit on Saturday. We had lots of fun!

Troy and Kevin have been friends for a long time. They are on the same wavelength. Boy can they make each other (and everyone around them) laugh!

We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Viva La France (and their super yummy food)!

Crawling soon?!?!?

Baby A is getting up on hands and knees -and rocking back and forth- a lot lately. I bet by the end of the month (maybe sooner) he'll be a crawling pro.

Up off of the ground

Yoga pose with monkey?

Hi!

Do you suppose this kid looks like me?

(especially the profile... fivehead (as Troy calls it) and nose. I can't help it if we have majestic foreheads LOL)

Kisses from Mama

Puppies likes Puffs, too

We've been giving Baby A Puffs... they're lightly flavored puffs of air and wheat (ok, maybe not air, but they do seem that way)

They are a great little snack and an easy food for babies just learning to feed themselves.

Today, Baby A must not have been in the mood for Puffs. I heard some crunching noises and saw this

He seems to be able to get the Puffs in Chloe's mouth better than his own!

The dogs love the Puffs... and Baby A because they know for years to come this little boy will be happily sharing his snacks with them.

Nose scrunching cutie

Baby A's newest quirk is nose scrunching when he smiles. It is really funny when he does it.

Also... Baby A is so close to crawling. He army crawls quite well and is now getting up on his hand and knees (sometimes hands and tiptoes). I'm sure it will be any day now that he crawls.

As his mother I know I'm a little biased... but isn't he cute!

Ouchie!

I knew this day would come. I had been expecting it... but hoping against it. Baby A had his first big uh-oh today.

We went to the swimming pool today. After we were done swimming we were in the locker room getting changed back into our clothes. Baby A was sitting on a bench so I could finish getting ready. I turned away for one second (maybe less) and Baby A fell/rolled/slid (not sure which) off the bench onto the floor. I don't think he fell directly on his head, but he did bonk it pretty good.

I called his pediatrician and she told me signs to look for that something was wrong. He seems just fine, though. Actually, aside from the little bump on his noggin you'd never know it even happened.

As a parent, you know stuff like this will happen no matter how careful you are... but it's still tough when it happens. I'm just so grateful that he is ok.

I guess (especially with a son), I should expect more of these types of things in the next 18 years?!?!?
