Pool pals

Today, we spent some time at my mom's house. Grams loves to spoil her grandsons, so she bought an inflatable kiddie pool for the kiddos to play in. Both Baby A and cousin Harlen had lots of fun!

Climb on!

On Thursday, we got a chance to do a little rock climbing at Red Rock Canyon Open Space. We've climbed there once before, but I didn't have the camera that day.

We arrived a bit late so we both only climbed once each, but it was still fun!

Playing in the dirt - I swear if I'd let him he'd each rocks, dirt, and sticks. I guess he's all boy.

Family Fun

My sister and her little boy Harlen came to town on Thursday. We've been able to spend a little bit of time with them.

Cousins - exactly 6 months apart in age and meeting for the very first time

A very good day...

Yesterday, Troy and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. I won't lie to you and say it's been 4 years of completely wedded bliss... but it has been good overall. Thinking back over the changes of the last 4 years, I am glad that Troy was by my side.

We married on May 20th, 2005. On January 1st, 2006 we moved to Lake Charles, LA for job opportunities. That was a very stressful time for both of us. The work situation wasn't great and it was tough being so far from home and family. In August of 2007 we found out I was pregnant with Baby A. April of 2008 marked the birth of Baby A. About 5 weeks later we moved to Colorado Springs... jobless. October of 2008 is when we moved into our house. Lots of change!!!

Yesterday, all 3 of us (and our dog Chloe) enjoyed the beautiful weather at one of Colorado Springs' many parks - Monument Valley Park. Later, we dropped off Baby A at his Grams house and Troy and I went to dinner. We ate at a super yummy Indian restaurant called Mirch Masala. It was so good! Overall, I would say it was a very good day.

Here are some photos from the day...

And how about another pic of our super cute 13 month old...
Also... I wanted to mention our other dog Stella. She went missing over the weekend... I am fairly certain she was taken by a bear/mountain lion/fox/coyote. Poor girl. We will miss her silly little adventurous self. She got on my nerves a lot, but I love her and never wanted anything bad to happen to her.

Welcome little one!

Yesterday we welcomed a new little baby into our family. My cousin had her baby girl a little after 7 p.m. Both mom and baby are healthy as can be. Check out those dimples!!!

Cousins

We spent some time at my cousin's house today...

Baby A and his cousin coloring. Well, let's be honest... cousin is coloring and Baby A is trying to eat the crayons.

Having fun

Big boy

Tomorrow is the big day for my cousin... I am so excited!!!

Ready to go

Best friends forever!

Getting some zzz's

After an hour of crying and playing in his crib, Baby A finally fell asleep. I walked in to his room about 15 minutes ago and saw this...

Even though I risked waking him up when the flash went off... this pic was worth it I love how his belly is hanging out. He's so cute and he was totally snoring!

Waiting...

A photo just for fun... Baby A and me taken a few days ago.

Waiting for...
Tomorrow... My cousin will be induced to have her baby! It feels like the last 39 weeks have just flown by. I can't wait to meet the yet to be named little girl. If she is even half as cute as her big brother, her daddy is going to have a hard time saying no to her.

And also waiting for...
Paper work to come in the mail. At A's last well baby checkup we found that his weight and height haven't changed much in the last 3 months. Since he was always large for his age but now is small for his age the pediatric nurse was a little concerned. She said that from looking at him she is not at all worried. However, his numbers (especially height) look a little off. She is sending us paperwork to have some blood work done to make sure that he does not have a growth hormone deficiency. I am really praying that he does not, because treatment typically involves daily injections of synthetic hormones for many years. Not only am I leery of synthetic hormones, but it is quite costly. I do not feel terribly concerned about this... but as a mother... well, if you're a mother you know. It's so easy to worry. I do know that from looking at my baby book, I was only 26" tall (2" shorter than Baby A... quite short even for a girl at 12 months old)... so I'm hoping that he is just short and stubby for now but will grown normally as he gets older. Prayers for good health for A are always welcome!

Side note... since Baby A is a year old I guess I'll have to start referring to him as something else on my blog soon. Any suggestions?
